USMC Veteran Mambo 20 Story of Carlos Calle & Mambotron Music
My Musical Journey Beginings
Carlos Calle was born in Ecuador and migrated to the United States at age 3, eventually calling Yonkers, NY home. At 17, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. At 15, he had already fallen in love with music — singing with local bands and playing keyboards in high school.
New York Latin Music Scene & Industry Icons
After returning from service, Carlos immersed himself in the vibrant Latin music scene of New York in the 1980s, performing at local venues and building a network that would shape his future. In 1987, he landed a role with a marketing group handling the Camel Joe Hispanic Market account, working alongside legendary promoter Ralphy Mercado and icons like Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Ruben Blades, Gran Combo, Oscar De Leon, Grupo Niche, and many more.
The Return to Music & Tito Puente Jr.
Life brought challenges — but music never stopped calling. In 2006, Carlos returned to his passion. A chance encounter with Tito Puente Jr. in Miami reignited a vision: a tribute to the late Tito Puente, El Rey Del Timbal, honoring the roots of Mambo, Salsa, and Cha Cha Cha.
The Mambo King Tribute is Born
On New Year's Eve 2017–2018, performing at Ball & Chain in Miami, Carlos brought together musicians from Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, and Nicaragua — and the Mambo King Tribute was born.
Mambotron Music Today
Today, Mambotron Music carries that legacy forward through original Latin EDM productions, merch, and a global fan community on N1M Music. Carlos is also dedicated to his mission of fighting homelessness and raising suicide awareness through VeteranSidekicks.com.
